HEX8 · Code_Aster correlation

One homogeneous linear static element, compared on the same mesh with Code_Aster 18.1.0. Historical development cycle evidence retained in the published source.

Model & assumptions

What was actually compared?

  • 8 nodes, one HEX8 element, 24 displacement DOFs.
  • Isotropic elasticity: E = 210 GPa, ν = 0.3, SI units.
  • All translations fixed at x = 0; the frozen nodal load has a total Z resultant of −1,000 N.
  • The load is distributed across the frozen x = 1 node set. HEX20 uses an explicit local connectivity permutation.
  • The QF reference is the accepted WP11 M1 result; WP12 does not rerun that solver result.
Scope boundaries

Where the evidence stops

  • Same mesh numerical correlation; no physical measurement validation.
  • No stress field equivalence, general mesh convergence, or cross family equivalence.
  • No nonlinear, contact, friction, dynamic, MPI, or scaling correlation is established.
  • The execution record says PASS_CANDIDATE; the separate Owner record accepts the bounded scope with limitations.
